Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park releases 2024 summer concert series lineup | The Rapidian (2024)

Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park announced Thursday the 2024 Fifth Third Bank Summer Concerts at Meijer Gardens lineup, featuring 33 internationally renowned artistsincluding big names like Bonnie Raitt, Orville Peck, Jason Mraz, Boyz II Men, The Temptations and more.

“We are delighted to present another summer of world-class live music in the Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater,” said Charles Burke, President and CEO of Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park.

Frederik Meijer Gardens members get early access to buy tickets through the members-only presale, beginning at 9 a.m. on April 20 through midnight on April 26. Members also save $5 per ticket during the presale and $2 per ticket after April 27.

Ticket sales to the public begin at 9 a.m. on April 27.

During an early morning Thursday conversation on 88.1 FM WYCE,Chris Cranick, WYCE music and program director, andJohn VanderHaagen, director of communications at Frederick Meijer Gardens, discussed the lineup and highlighted the partnership with the Grand Rapids Symphony.

VanderHaagen called the partnership a "nice little, kind of, series within a series with our friends at the Symphony."

"The last couple of years, we have partnered with our friends at the Symphony, and it's just such a unique way to hear some familiar music, but backed by the wonderful Grand Rapids Symphony. It really leads to some fun, different twists on songs you may be familiar with," VanderHaagen said. "A great three-show lineup with the symphony this year, kicked off with Bruce Hornsby ... Warren Haynes is playing with the symphony, that's going to be totally uniquesome southern rock with strings. I'm really looking forward to that one. And then Black Violin, who we had play here a couple years ago, but now with a symphony."

Burke thanked the Meijer family, Fifth Third Bank, Harvey Lexus of Grand Rapids, Corewell Health, Grand Rapids Symphony, the Steve and Amy Van Andel Foundation and their other partners for their “commitment in helping make this series possible and allowing us to welcome more people to experience the arts at Meijer Gardens.”
